The first outing of the society was in 1978. The initial players met at Crail GC and played over the Balcomie Course for the bottle of Bollinger.

BGS has played the Crail course annually since then. This year, 2017 will be the 40th consecutive outing!

There are currently 19 members who play each month - usually the last Sunday of the month - from April to September. The courses are mainly in Fife and the favourites are Ladybank GC, Scotscraig, Lundin GC, Kirkcaldy and of course Crail. This year members are playing the "Deeside Classic". Four rounds over Banchory, Aboyne, Braemar and Ballater.
